Mazda’s 6-Year Warranty

Thu 21st Aug 2025

There’s nothing like the peace of mind that a car warranty brings, and from September 1, 2025, things are set to get even better through Mazda’s introduction of a 6-year or 100,000-mile warranty on new cars.

Here at David Hayton, we specialise in all things Mazda - both new and used - so if you’re looking for a car with a comprehensive warranty, then get in touch today and we’ll be able to help guide you towards the right option for you.

But what does this new-car warranty bring, what does it cover, and how does it work? Let’s find out.

How is the warranty period being extended?

It’s a big uplift in warranty cover for Mazda drivers, with the standard coverage period being doubled from three to six years, while the mileage limit increases from 60,000 to 100,000 miles.

It means that drivers will have even more cover during their time with the car. Jeremy Thomson, Mazda UK managing director, said: “It’s great that we can now offer our customers in the UK a six-year warranty. If you consider that just 21 per cent of cars registered in the UK year-to-date have longer than a three-year warranty, this is a fantastic reflection of our commitment to the quality, reliability and engineering of our cars”.

What are the requirements for the warranty?

To maintain the warranty, drivers must have their cars serviced within Mazda’s prescribed programme, mileage and time parameters of 12,500 miles or 12 months on the majority of cars. It’s on the Mazda2 Hybrid, which is slightly different, as it has a servicing interval of 10,000 miles or 12 months.

Here at David Hayton, we can take care of all of your servicing requirements, with a range of services available today.

When does the new warranty come into play?

The new warranty scheme will come into action on September 1, 2025 and will apply to all Mazda vehicles registered after that date. It also coincides with the biannual plate change, meaning that all Mazda vehicles wearing the fresh ‘75’ plate will be accompanied by the updated warranty scheme.

What about European breakdown cover?

We’ve got good news - European breakdown cover is included too. So if you’re travelling further afield or heading on a UK-based adventure in your new Mazda, you’ll get three years of comprehensive breakdown cover that can be on hand at a moment’s notice.

Within the UK, you’ll get home or roadside assistance and an onward travel or overnight accommodation allowance of up to £100 per beneficiary or car hire for a maximum of two days. In Europe, you’ll get roadside assistance with up to £100 per beneficiary for onward travel or overnight accommodation, or up to a maximum of five days' car hire to get you where you need to be.

Can I extend a warranty?

Of course! If your current Mazda Warranty is about to expire, then you can purchase a new extended warranty as well as the option of roadside assistance, directly from Mazda UK. Available through annual or monthly payments, an extended warranty will simply extend most of the features of a standard warranty for a longer period, ensuring that you always get the best possible service for your Mazda.

The team at David Hayton will be happy to discuss your extended warranty options today, so if you’re in a used Mazda with a warranty which is about to expire, get in touch to find out more.
